New T-Shirt Quilts!

Happy New Year friends! I had a few great quilts to work on this holiday season and I think now I can finally tell you about them (don't want to ruin the surprise too early).

I made a t-shirt quilt for a family in Juneau, Alaska. This was the biggest quilt I have ever made! It was full of t-shirts, sweatshirts, patches, old sheets and pillowcases that reflected the history of this family of four. The collection ended up looking so great and we also added a machine quilt to it to make sure it lasts for many, many generations. The quilt was so big I couldn't get a picture of the entire thing!

If you aren't familiar with the Underdog Sports League, you should really check them out. I made this t-shirt quilt from a collection of their Portland kickball league t-shirts. It's so colorful and the perfect size for snuggling on the couch after a tough game in the schoolyard. One thing I love about quilts like this is the opportunity to do something creative because all of the t-shirts look similar. I cut each square so that the logo would be in a slightly different spot in each square - I thought it made it look like the ball was bouncing around. So cute!

What's your t-shirt collection all about?
